Latsia Geri’s First Dog Park Is Now Open

Great news for the local dog community: the first dedicated dog park in Latsia-Geri is officially open. Following its opening on 11 May, local families now have a permanent, safe space to visit for daily walks and play time. You can find the park located at the corner of Thessalonikis Street and Kritonos Tornariti Street. The project was fully funded by the local municipality, representing an investment of approximately 80,000 euro to improve life for dogs in our area.

What you will find inside

The space was carefully designed to keep every dog comfortable. It features two separate sections, one for smaller dogs and another for larger breeds, which helps ensure that all pets can play safely. You will also find play equipment, plenty of benches, water stations for thirsty pups, and trees for much needed shade.

A positive step for our community

Public dog parks are a wonderful way for our dogs to get the exercise they need while helping them build confidence through social interaction. They also offer a great opportunity for us as owners to meet neighbours and support each other, making our local area feel even more welcoming.

Planning your first visit

The municipality has staff monitoring the area to keep it tidy and welcoming. The park is currently set to open one hour after sunrise and close one hour before sunset.

Helpful tips for owners

When you bring your dog to the park, please remember to keep a close eye on them, clean up after them, and ensure their microchip and registration details are fully up to date. These simple habits help keep the park clean and safe for all the furry visitors who love to play there. Now that the park is open, why not pack your leash and take a trip this week? Share this news with your friends in Latsia-Geri, and don’t forget to double check that your dog’s microchip information is current before you head out.
